Seeing the first trailer for Mortal Engines, you could forgive me for thinking that Peter Jackson’s latest adaptation had ventured a bit too far off the deep-end into literary territory best avoided. Giant moving cities rendered in shaky CGI didn’t particularly hook me into the idea of this world. However, this week has seen a slew of featurettes released, giving us a more detailed look at the insane world we can expect to see and the characters we can expect to encounter along this journey. These have done a much better job of getting me interested in the story than the original trailer ever did. Peter Jackson and the cast speak about the characters, their motivations, and what got them interested in this project in the first place. You can give the featurettes a watch below, if like myself you were skeptical about Mortal Engines; they may help to sway you in favour.
